About Us

Transforming Lives Through Vision

Our Mission

Eye Doc in a Box is a nondenominational, evangelical, Christian organization providing eye care and spiritual aid to hurting people in developing countries while demonstrating God’s love and sharing God’s love through his Son, Jesus Christ. The goal is to help meet the eye care needs of the billion patients who need glasses but do not have access to them. The organization serves the church in developing countries worldwide to promote the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Through awareness of the need for vision care, the goal of Eye
Doc in a Box is to see that every Christian mission trip includes
vision testing as a part of their ministry. The end goal is, together
with other organizations, to treat 25 million people by 2050.

By participating in selected conventions and conferences
throughout each year, our prayer is that, by word of mouth, Eye
Doc in a Box will become synonymous with vision care in
developing countries, similar to other well known ministries.

Rooted in Christian Beliefs

Our Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God revealing the love of God to the world.
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, we believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell.
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life.
  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment.
  7. We believe that the ministry of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ) and discipleship (helping followers of Christ grow up into maturity in Christ) is a responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ.
  8. We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism.
  9. We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our fellowmen.

Kristi C., Guatemala (Sept. 2026)

This year you have helped us train 59 volunteers to lead our vision clinics in Guatemala.  It has been a wonderful growing branch of our healthcare outreach!  We have served 21 communities across the country so far! One very sweet story is of a man we affectionally referred to as "hot dog guy." During one of our mobile clinics, several of our students noticed the hot dog vendor in the street nearby.  As the day unfolded, they stepped over a few times to say HI and get to know him.  As they shared our team's purposes in being there that day, the man revealed that he could not see clearly.  Our students invited him to come and get an eye exam, but he told them he wasn't allowed to leave his cart during work hours. Not taking no for an answer, they spoke to the boss and asked for permission for him to leave for 5 minutes and they promised a very quick eye exam! Our new friend was given permission and we kept our promise to deliver a very fast evaluation. The results - NEW GLASSES!!  Within minutes, he was back at the cart handing out hotdogs AND seeing life with a whole new perspective! As we often see stories become intertwined, it turns out that our new relationship led to us purchasing 120 hot dogs for a youth retreat a few weeks later directly from "hot dog guy" and his boss! Thank you for everything that you and Eye Doc in a Box are helping us accomplish! Each evaluation provides hope. Every lens creates opportunity. All interactions strengthen community connections. We love this division of our healthcare development!

We had a fabulous trip to Guatemala.  We had a medical clinic and VBS children's ministry as well as the Vision testing clinic each day. We were in 4 different locations, so flexibility was key.  In the Vision clinic we saw about 185 patients over the 4 days, giving away over 200 pairs of glasses, hats and sunglasses.  I trained a few team members when we arrived since team members came from several states and we hadn't met before.  I had high school, college students, as well as doctors and nurses go through the training.  Outlook Mountain Mission and Mission Serve leadership was very impressed with your materials.  They will be referring others to your ministry.  Many Guatemalans came to a saving knowledge of Christ during the week. Thank you again for your ministry.

During the week in the remote Lenca villages…we had 239 visit the eye glass clinic. We were able to help all that needed eyeglasses and gave antibiotics to those with eye infections. There were eight commitments to Christ during the week.  One was especially noteworthy ….. a respected man in the area known as a “witch”. He had been witnessed to on several occasions….was vocally anti Christian.  The missionaries were excited that his conversion would affect many in a positive way.  God is good!
